If someone uses your computer after hours, you will know.

Installation Of The PC Monitoring / Spy PC And Retrieving Data

To install the PC Monitoring / Spy PC , all you need to do is plug it in between your keyboard cable and your computer - and you are done .

When you have recorded some data, and would like to retrieve it, simply open up any text editor or word processing program (Microsoft Notepad is recommended).

Type in your secret password. As soon as your password has been correctly entered, a menu will be displayed on your screen, giving you several options, including: View Memory, Erase Memory, Disable recording, and so on.

As soon as the 'View Memory' option has been selected, every word that has been typed on your computer will be displayed for you to see!

The PC Monitoring / Spy PC is about two inches long, and about 1/2 inch in diameter. Inside the device, there is a microcontroller, and a non-volatile memory chip. The microcontroller interprets data (keystrokes) as they are typed and the non-volatile memory stores all of the data.

Computer Monitoring Hardware

Hardware keystroke recorders contain two main components: a simple microprocessor, and non-volatile memory. The microprocessor handles tasks such as: interpreting keystrokes, checking for the access password, and displaying menu options.

Further more, the ability to retain the keystroke log even when unplugged, makes it a portable device. It can be used to record on one computer, and can be read out on another computer. This is useful if one desires to record activities at home, and review the data at the office, for example.

Using the Keykatcher Menu

Hardware keystroke recorders require no specialized software on the computer system. They are accessed through a "host program", which can be any word processor or text editor.
Hardware keystroke recorders are constantly examining the keystroke stream looking for the access password. As soon the device sees the access password, it temporarily shuts down the keyboard and "types" a menu on the screen. This is perhaps the most novel aspect of the hardware keystroke recorder.
This technology allows hardware keystroke recorders to be used without installing any software on the computer system, and allows recording to take place without consuming any CPU cycles.
