FAQ
Phone
transmitters FAQ
what is the difference between item 100 - miniature phone transmitter
and the rest of your phone transmitters ?
the only difference between item 100 - miniature phone transmitter and
the rest of the phone transmitters is the way it is installed.
To install item 100 you have to open the phone socket on the wall ,to identify
the two wires of the phone line and keeping polarity in mind connecting
the miniature phone transmitter to those specified two wires.
What's the advantage of using the concealed phone transmitters
( items 105, 106, 107, 110 ) over item 100 ?
if you have a separate phone socket in your home / office which is hidden
or un accessed ( connected to the line you want to record the conversation
from ) you'll prefer to use item 105 - Phone
socket conceals transmitter or any other concealed phone transmitter
.
item 105 is extremely simple to install , just plug it in to the wall like
any other phone device and you done.
You can also use an extension cord to hide the concealed phone transmitter
in a less accessed area of the room.
In case you think all your phone sockets are easy to access and any additional
phone device will be obvious , then you will prefer to use item
100 - Miniature phone transmitter .
can i use the phone transmitter on the same phone line with a
modem ?
the phone transmitter is using the phone line current as power source.
That is one of the reasons the phone transmitter can be so small ( eliminating
the need for AC power source or a battery ) .
therefore the phone transmitter is using some of the current intended for
other devices connected to your phone. Different phone companies are using
different currents to "push" the phone devices connected to there system.
The current they are using also varies depending on the distance of the
phone company from your house / office.
From our experience in some areas the transmitter works along with the
use of any modem.
In other areas it won't , there is no specific modem to use which will fix
that problem if it occurs.
Other phone transmitters in the market which are not using the current from
the phone line as a power source , are using a battery or AC adapter which
is connected to the transmitter .
this arrangement makes the device ( transmitter and power source ) so big
which makes it impossible to install inside a phone socket , or hide it in
relatively small space.
With these kind of transmitters you'll have to replace the battery every day
or so.
Radio
scanner - receiving and recording the transmitted signal FAQ
what is the best way to receive the transmission signal of the
room or phone transmitters ?
the best receiver will be item 189 - radio
/ scanner .
the radio scanner is more sensitive and precise for picking up the transmitted
signal from a greater range then items 180 or 185, the radio scanner is
also more cost efficient then the other two.
What is the use of items 180 and 185 ?
Items 180 and 185 are still manufactured and available on our site to
support our customers who are using our previous versions of transmitters.
How can i record / listen the conversation when i am using the
radio scanner ?
to record the room or phone conversation you need to use VOX operated
tape recorder , also sold through our site.
The tape recorder is connected to the radio scanner with a special cord
( supplied with the radio scanner ) .
using the radio scanner - item 189 , and
the VOX operated tape recorder , you will be able to automatically listen
/ record the phone calls immediately when a call is made ( one of the phone
devices connected to the same line is in use ).
can i use batteries to operate the radio scanner ?
the radio scanner powered on four AA size batteries , or by using AC adapter
( supplied with the scanner ) .
the receiver ( item 189 ) will pick up and if connected to a tape recorder
also will record the sound from the room / office at all times.
The receiver will pick up and if connected to a VOX operated tape recorder
also will record the sound from the phone calls ONLY when a call is in progress.
Can i record / listen to the phone and room transmitter at the
same time ?
please notice that you can listen to the room conversation and the phone
calls using item 189 - radio scanner , BUT NOT AT THE SAME TIME , that's
because the transmitted frequencies of the room and phone transmitters are
close by , but not precisely the same.
If you need to pick up both the room and phone conversation at all times,
you have to use two receivers ( item 189 ).
how to install item 142 ( DC adapter conceals transmitter ) ?
item 142 is a DC adapter which conceals room transmitter
.
it will transmit the conversation with in the room / office immediately
when it is connected to AC outlet .
what is the difference between AC and DC adapter ?
there is some confusion with the terminology of AC and DC adapters , with
in the technical literature .
item 142 is connected to AC power outlet in the wall ( input ), and produces
12 volt DC power on its cord (output ). therefore enabling you to use the
adapter with any 12 volts DC powered equipment ( up to 600 milliamperes
of current ) .
please notice that the concealed transmitter will operate as long as the
AC adapter is connected to the power outlet , whether you are using the
output DC power or not .
what kind of phone transmitters the tap / VOX debugger and the
secure phone will eliminate ?
the Tap / Vox debugger eliminates the use of any VOX bugging devices from
the phone line .
among other bugging devices it will also debugs most of the phone transmitters
in the market today.
Phone transmitters ( crystal based or not, parallel or serial ) are using
the phone line current as power source.
the Tap / Vox debugger has special circuit to detect minute changes in the
phone line voltage or current, therefore it defeats any phone transmitter
which operates on line current .
the debugger also defeats most of the transmitters which are based on battery
or AC adapter for their power source ( crystal based or not, parallel or
serial ).
in fact there are a small group of transmitters that might be undetected
by the debugger , these transmitters (usually used by government agencies
) are seldom found or used in the civil market since they are very expensive
or the technology of these transmitters did not " leaked " has of now .
what kind of tapping devices the tap / VOX debugger and the secure
phone will eliminate ?
the tap / vox debugger defeats bugging devices which are connected anywhere
along the phone line , including bugging devices inside the phone sockets
or bugs hidden inside any phone device ( including fax and answering machine
) .
can i use the tap / VOX debugger or the secure phone on a phone
line with caller i.d ?
the tap / vox debugger will not let the caller i.d. To work properly ,
since the caller i.d. Sends a flow of data on the phone line all the time
, this data is treated like a bugging device .
